Mill Meadow Autumn News 2010

Quality in Tourism (the assessment service provided for VisitEngland) has awarded 5 Star Gold for Kingfisher and Woodpecker Eco Lodges, 4 star Gold for Swallows barn and 4 Star for House Martins. Great results that place Mill Meadow in the top 12% of self catering accommodation in the UK. This is addition to the Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award received in 2009; Mill Meadow is still the only self catering destination in Somerset to hold GTBS Gold.

Our thanks to all our guests for their feedback which has helped us improve over the past year. As a result of your comments we now have a BBQ for guests use and a concierge service to advise you on your days and nights out. Just let us know your interests before you get here on our new pre arrival form, which you will receive on booking (or click here), and we will help you get the most from your stay.

New Lodges for 2011

2011 will see two new eco lodges at Mill Meadow; Robins (will sleep 6 plus 2) and Wagtails a fully accessible unit for guests with particular needs (will sleep 4 plus 2). Both will be fully equipped with the comfort of guests in mind and will utilise the latest and most appropriate technology including Solar Photo Voltaic for electric generation and Solar Thermal for hot water in addition to the existing ground source heat pump and rainwater harvesting currently fitted to each eco lodge.

Autum Activities

Autumn and Winter are a great times to visit Somerset for walking, cycling, going on a deer watch ramble or just enjoying the wide open space, stunning countryside and peace and quiet. Experience Mother Nature in all her autumn glory or view a murmuration of starlings (millions of starlings swarming over the Somerset Levels see http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/conservation/designatedareas/nnr/1006131.aspx).
